Prosperity Wealth Planning

Welcome to 2026! Every January brings with it a time to look ahead, and a time to reflect on what transpired in the previous twelve months. Anticipation and nostalgia drift through the air, a powerful reminder that every day, life is actively shaping who we are becoming. In the song, Unwritten, by Natasha Bedingfield, she writes, "Today is where your book begins, the rest is still unwritten." The upcoming year brings a promise of new opportunities, new life adventures, and, certainly, change. It is up to each of us to decide what will be written in the days and years ahead.

Carolanne’s Corner

Over the past several years, the Prosperity Wealth Planning team has grown with the goal of constantly improving our client experience at every opportunity.  The year ahead brings opportunities for us as well, and we’d like to share some of these with you.  We’ll go into more detail about the year ahead in the 'What’s New' section but for now, I’d like to share an update to our firm’s niche.  In many professional disciplines, the term niche refers to a refined service offering unique to a specific group of people and can be an important differentiator. At Prosperity Wealth Planning, alongside fee-only, comprehensive retirement planning for retirees and professionals, we will now offer two specialized services: Divorce Planning and Legacy Planning. These niches represent the work our team is uniquely equipped to deliver, with our own personal stories in mind, aligned with areas where we’re seeing a growing need among the current and future families we will be serving.

Today's households are facing increasingly complicated financial situations, including blended families, aging parents, estate disputes, competing careers, and family demands. All of these require nuanced planning. A niche isn’t simply a marketing term or a label; it’s a deeper level of specialization that allows us to serve our clients with more precision, more insight, and more confidence. Let’s take a moment to share some additional details about our new service offerings.

Legacy Planning

Legacy Planning is more than transferring assets; it’s a process of aligning your resources with the values and relationships that matter most to you. Families are increasingly recognizing that estate documents alone don’t create clarity. True legacy planning involves intentional conversations, thoughtful financial structures, and proactive implementation that support both current and future generations.

Our Legacy Planning Services are designed to:

  • Help families clarify their wishes to their heirs around inheritance, gifting, and long-term stewardship
  • Integrate tax-efficient strategies while preserving family harmony
  • Prepare their loved ones through education, planning conversations, and structured guidance
  • Support multigenerational planning for family wealth and values

Legacy planning allows families to reduce uncertainty, prevent conflict, and ensure their wealth has a lasting purpose - whether for their children, charitable causes, or their broader community.

Divorce Planning

Even in amicable circumstances, a divorce is enough to cause otherwise confident people to feel crippled by the anxiety of the unknown. The last place anyone wants stress to overwhelm them is in the thick of navigating financial decisions that will have an impact personally and on their family for years to come.

Divorce planning clients are supported with:

  • Disclosure interpretation and completion
  • Marital balance sheet creation, cash flow and lifestyle planning
  • Clarification of tax implications and strategy
  • Mediation/Litigation preparation
  • Post-divorce financial planning

Our Divorce Planning offering is designed to serve as a steady guide throughout every stage of the process. Whether you're anticipating a divorce, in the midst of one, or have recently finalized your settlement, our goal is to help you achieve and maintain clarity, control, confidence, and continuity.
