Like most people, I am grateful that my family and I have stayed healthy and avoided the virus that has stricken so many. We are also grateful that we still have jobs, we can work from home, have the ability to make “distance learning” manageable, and that we’ve been able to get through the pandemic with only a few relatively minor inconveniences.
We recognize that for too many, that has sadly not been the case. To date, over 260,000 Americans have died from a virus that, less than a year ago, didn’t even exist. Over 12 million more have fallen ill, many suffering serious, long-term effects from this disease.
Millions more are without jobs or are experiencing reduced incomes, resulting in financial stress and even food insecurity through no fault of their own.
When this will end we don’t know, but we are also grateful that every day brings us closer to a vaccine that will, we pray, put this experience behind us forever.
I am also super grateful for all the school teachers and staff, the nurses, physicians, nursing home staff and healthcare workers, and public employees that are the front-line in this war on Covid-19.
This morning I picked up our Thanksgiving dinner from a local restaurant and I am reminded of all the restaurant and retail employees, gas station and convenience store workers, delivery drivers, small business owners and so many others that choose to go to work every day so that we can enjoy a family meal at home and all the other conveniences of modern life, despite the risks to themselves and their own families.
And let’s not forget about you, our clients, staff, team members, blog followers and others that make my business possible. Thank you so much for your business, your friendship and your continued support through challenging times.
While it’s important to recognize the difficult times we are experiencing, I think its also important to remember that, just like a cold Minnesota winter, these times won’t last forever. Better days are coming.
So much to be grateful for. So much to look forward to.
Thank you! I wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
Be well.
