Tax Preparation and Financial Coaching

Lamar Watson, CFP®

Next month will mark the four-year anniversary of Dream Financial Planning. When I left my position as a Vice President with one of the top wealth management teams in the country, my goal was to use my 17 years of experience working with high-net-worth individuals to develop a unique program to help young professionals achieve financial success. I also want to expand access to those that don't have enough assets to qualify for traditional wealth management. So, I'm happy to introduce a lower-priced alternative to expand Financial Planning access to even more people.

After working with over 100 individuals and families over the past four years, I'm continuing to look for ways to improve and deliver more value to my clients. I've been fortunate enough to work with clients from the age of 22 to 75. The net worth of these clients ranges from negative because of large student loan balances up to several million dollars.

The number one request I received over the past four years is to offer tax preparation. The second most frequent request I get is to offer a lower-priced alternative to our signature ongoing planning program, which starts at $350/month.

I'm excited to offer two new services, Tax Preparation, and Financial Coaching. I also have a new service to help parents with children in high school evaluate the cost of college, search for scholarships, and evaluate the potential need for student loans. My goal is to help as many people as possible, including those who are just starting out on their financial journey.

Tax Preparation

Tax preparation is now part of the ongoing financial planning program. This will be in addition to the Tax Report we already generate for clients and the work we do with the IRS Withholding Calculator to help prevent our clients from getting a surprise tax bill.

Financial Coaching

Our newest program starts at $99/month. This is ideal for someone who is looking to simplify and automate their finances. We'll also serve as an accountability partner and help you overcome obstacles that may be stopping you from accomplishing your goals. You can learn more about our coaching program here.

My goal is to enroll 100 people in the coaching program by the end of the year. If you think this program might be a good fit for you, schedule a 15-Minute Demo.

Paying for College

This service is an ideal fit for parents of high school juniors and seniors who have a standardized test score (ACT/SAT) and a list of colleges they're considering. This is included as part of ongoing financial planning or as a stand-alone package. This service includes:

  • A college affordability assessment
  • How Much Colleges Think You Can Afford (EFC)
  • If You Qualify for Need-based Grants
  • If You Qualify for Merit-based Scholarships
  • Help you search for scholarships
  • 1 Year Out of Pocket Cost (For Each College)
  • 4 Year Out of Pocket Cost (For Each College)

Additional Services

Wealth Management - Combines ongoing financial planning and investment management. If we're managing at least $500,000 in investments for you, the financial planning fee is waived. Tax Prep will be included.

Ongoing Financial Planning - Our most popular program now includes tax prep. This is a good fit if you have several goals and want to continue to manage your own investments. We'll cover everything from spending, insurance, taxes, investments, retirement planning, and estate planning, just to name a few. Our goal is to give you and your family an easy-to-understand plan to give you confidence you're making the right financial decisions.

Three-Hour Ask Me Anything - This is a good fit if you have 2-3 goals you're looking for help with. These three one-hour meetings need to be completed within three months. The fee for this service is $2,000.

I hope we get the opportunity to work together. If you'd like to see if any of these services are a good fit for you, feel free to schedule a free consultation or send me an e-mail.
